ALFRED NAKACHE<\/h1>
Alfred Nakache (1915\u20131983) was a Jewish French swimmer and water polo player, born in Constantine, French Algeria, who became one of France\u2019s dominant pre\u2011war champions in freestyle, breaststroke, and relay events. <\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
He represented France at\u00a0<\/span>the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, finishing fourth in the 4\u00d7200\u2011meter freestyle relay, and went on to win more than a dozen\u00a0<\/span>French national titles and set a world record in the 200\u2011meter breaststroke in 1941.<\/span>

In 1944, Nakache, his wife Paule, and their young daughter Annie were deported to Auschwitz because they were Jewish;\u00a0<\/span>his wife and child were murdered there shortly after arrival, while he survived forced labor and camp brutality.<\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Weighing around\u00a0<\/span>42 kilos at liberation, he nonetheless returned to elite competition and, remarkably, swam for France again at the 1948 London\u00a0<\/span>Olympic Games, becoming one of only two known Holocaust survivors ever to compete in the Olympics after the war.<\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
After retiring from competition, Nakache remained a symbol of resilience in French sport; swimming pools across France,\u00a0including the main municipal pool in Toulouse, bear his name.<\/span><\/div>
He was posthumously inducted into the International <\/span>Swimming Hall of Fame and the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.<\/span><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

FLORENCE MIAILHE<\/h1>
Florence Miailhe (b. 1956) is a French animation director, painter, and printmaker, and a graduate of the \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Arts D\u00e9coratifs in Paris, where she specialized in engraving.\u00a0
She began her career as a model maker and illustrator for the press while exhibiting drawings and engravings.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
In 1991, she directed her first short film,\u00a0Hammam<\/i>, and has since developed a singular \u201cfilm-painting\u201d style, using paint, pastel, or sand animated directly under the camera with overlapping techniques.\u00a0<\/div>

Her short films have screened at major festivals in France and around the world, earning numerous awards and retrospectives.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
She received the C\u00e9sar Award for Best Short Film in 2002 for\u00a0Au premier dimanche d\u2019ao\u00fbt<\/i>\u00a0(On the First Sunday\u00a0<\/i>in August)<\/i>\u00a0and a Special Mention in the Short Film Competition at Cannes in 2006 for\u00a0Conte de quartier<\/i>.\u00a0<\/div>
In 2015, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival honored her career with its prestigious Honorary Cristal and a retrospective of her work.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Alongside her filmmaking, Miailhe has taught at leading animation schools including Gobelins, ENSAD, and La Poudri\u00e8re, mentoring a generation of animators.\u00a0

Ron Dyens is a French Academy Award\u00ae and Golden Globe winner for the animated feature\u00a0Flow<\/i>\u00a0(2025). He is also\u00a0an Academy Award\u00ae nominee for the animated short\u00a0<\/span>Madagascar, Travel Diary<\/i>\u00a0(2011).<\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
In 1999, he founded Sacrebleu Productions, a Paris-based production company specializing in animated features and\u00a0shorts with a strong international presence and critical acclaim.\u00a0<\/span>
Since then, he has produced over 100 short films,\u00a0<\/span>with more than 2,000 festival selections worldwide, winning numerous prestigious awards \u2013 including the Palme d\u2019Or\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>Barking Island<\/i>.<\/span><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Sacrebleu Productions moved into animated features with\u00a0Long Way North<\/i>\u00a0(2015) \u2013 Audience Award at Annecy and\u00a0600,000 admissions in France.\u00a0<\/span>
Four films followed, including\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0(awarded at BIAF 2020), <\/span>My Sunny Maad<\/i>\u00a0(Jury Prize at Annecy 2021, C\u00e9sar Award for Best Animated Feature and Golden Globe nominee) and\u00a0<\/span>Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds<\/i>\u00a0(Audience Award at Annecy 2023).<\/span><\/div>
